Finishing touches are now completed on the 2011 Country Telethon Home, in readiness for an Auction to be held on site at 11am Sunday 16 October 2011, with sale proceeds going towards the state’s premier child health charity.
The three bedroom, two bathroom home was designed and built by WA Country Builders within the Oyster Harbour land development in Albany, and fits perfectly on the block to make the most of views over parklands and landscaped lakes, whilst maintaining privacy for the owners.
Aptly named the Oyster Harbour, this family friendly and entertainers delight home features an activity room, raked ceiling free form family and kitchen area, a formal lounge and a large paved alfresco.
The landscaping will be water wise with a hanging wall herb garden, native plantings and artificial turf.
The colour scheme of this new home is in a neutral palette with the emphasis on texture rather than strong colour and the stone cladding to the rear of the breakfast bar links the inside of this home with the stone clad feature walls on the outside.
This home will be sold fully furnished, carpeted and tiled so all you will need to do is move in, unpack you bags and start using the fantastic gourmet kitchen with its in-built cappuccino machine, dishwasher and up-market appliances.
This is the second charity home project involving the Oyster Harbour land development and WA Country Builders. Three years ago, a charity home was constructed and sold within the development, with all proceeds going towards the Royal Flying Doctor Service.
Both companies were again amazed and humbled at the generosity of the suppliers and tradespeople, many of them local.
WA Country Builders is owned by JWH Group. Managing Director Julian Walter has a long association with building charity homes and has been building the Telethon home in Perth for many years as well as homes for a variety of great projects in his country divisions.
The Oyster Harbour development is a joint venture between developers Heath Development Company and the Department of Housing and Works. Upon completion Oyster Harbour will provide 2100 much needed residential home sites for Albany, as well as develop more affordable housing.
